Scientists have noticed that patients may experience improvements just from thinking they've had medicine, even if that medicine is fake. But why does the placebo effect work, and why do some researchers believe it's growing stronger? Tune in to find out.

MAKING A KILLING

Psychotropic drugs. It's the story of big money—drugs that fuel a $330 billion psychiatric industry, without a single cure. The cost in human terms is even greater—these drugs now kill an estimated 42,000 people every year. And the death count keeps rising. Containing more than 175 interviews with lawyers, mental health experts, the families of victims and the survivors themselves, this riveting documentary rips the mask off psychotropic drugging and exposes a brutal but well-entrenched money-making machine.

DEAD WRONG - HOW PSYCHIATRIC DRUGS CAN KILL YOUR CHILD

Psychiatric disorders are not medical diseases. There are no lab tests, brain scans, X-rays or chemical imbalance tests that can verify any mental disorder is a physical condition.

The Untold Story of Psychotropic Drugging and The Marketing of Madness: Are We All Insane? comes this searing new documentary, exposing how devastating—and deadly—psychiatric drugs can be for children and families.

Behind the grim statistics of deaths, suicides, birth defects and serious adverse reactions is the human face of this global drugging epidemic—the personal stories of loss and courage of those who paid the real price.

Psychiatrists claim their drugs are safe for children?
Once you hear what eight brave mothers, their families, health experts, drug counselors and doctors have to say instead, you will come away convinced of one thing...

Psychiatrists are DEAD WRONG.

SSRI STORIES.COM

Betty Henderson is the webmaster of SSRI Stories: Antidepressant Nightmares, a site that documents the adverse side effects of antidepressants.
We westerners have been turned into a spoiled, child-like culture, where you're supposed to run away from sadness and melancholy, or anything else that is "negative", for that matter. Basically, everything that actually makes you face yourself or the world, and subsequently grow as a person.
That's where most people get hooked on antidepressants, and other drugs, legal or illegal. When you go down that path, you never cope and deal with your problems. You never grow from the experience. What's more, you're generally poisoned, frequently hooked on the substance. Not a good deal to make.
Before getting into these artificial options, try to develop a head-on, resilient attitude about things. It's not always easy to do, but persistence pays, and sooner or later it works. Exercise, good nutrition, going out to nature, even getting some (real) therapy, also fit the bill.

The Marketing of Madness
This is the definitive documentary on the psychiatric drugging industry. Here is the real story of the high income partnership between psychiatry and drug companies that has created an $80 billion psychotropic drug profit center.

Prozac was launched in 1987 and became popular faster than any drug previously used in psychotherapy. It starred on magazine covers and was the hot topic on talk shows. Compared to other anti-depressants Prozac had fewer side effects and made people feel ‘better than well’. It was believed to be a modern ‘wonder drug’.
This is the movie that first opened my eyes when I sold Prozac (Fluoxetine) for Eli Lilly. This movie is about a young woman's struggles with depression during her first year at Harvard. Based on Elizabeth Wurtzel's novel.  Starring Christina Riccie. I watched it in 2005 with my fellow Prozac sales colleague and we started questioning the drugs and drug practices of Big Pharma. Judge for yourselves.

Diagnostic & Statistical Manual: Psychiatry's Deadliest Scam

An elaborate pseudoscientific sham...  It's 943 pages long and lists out 374 mental "disorders."  It is the basis for the listing of mental disorders in the International Classification of Diseases that is used throughout the world.  And though it weighs less than five pounds, its influence pervades all aspects of modern society: our governments, our courts, our military, our media and our schools.

Using it, psychiatrists can enforce psychiatric drugging, seize your children and even take away your most precious personal freedoms.
It is psychiatry's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, and it is the engine that drives a $330 billion psychiatric industry.

But is there any proof behind the DSM? Or is it nothing more than an elaborate pseudoscientific sham?

SICK: the movie

This is a documentary about the mental health institutionalization of youth. It was completed as part of the social justice program at Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It explores mental health institutions in the context of Irving Goffman's 'total institution' and looks at parallels between the institutionalization of youth in mental hospitals and the prison system. One part historical, one part sociological, one part personal - former patients share their experiences. Based on personal experience, we asked as our premise - if you are sending someone somewhere to get healthy, why would you send them to a prison? In this film we offer a critical look at the institutionalization of minors.

Psychiatry An Industry of Death

Through rare historical and contemporary footage and interviews with more than 160 doctors, attorneys, educators, survivors and experts on the mental health industry and its abuses, this riveting documentary blazes the bright light of truth on the brutal pseudoscience and multi-billion dollar fraud that is psychiatry.

We think you have the right to know the cold, hard facts about psychiatry, its practitioners and the threat they pose to our children. Get the truth—watch this film.  Governments, insurance companies and private individuals pay billions of dollars each year to psychiatrists in pursuit of cures that psychiatrists admit do not exist. Psychiatry's “therapies” have caused millions of deaths.

In the absence of any objective medical tests to determine who has ADD or ADHD, doctors rely in part on standardized assessments and the impressions of teachers and guardians while the they administer leave little room for other causes or aggravating factors, such as diet, or environment. Hence, diagnosing a child or adolescent with ADD or ADHD is often the outcome, although no organic basis for either disease has yet to be clinically proven. Psychiatrists may then prescribe psychotropic drugs for the children without first without making it clear to parents that these medications can have severe side-effects including insomnia, loss of appetite, headaches, psychotic symptoms and even potentially fatal adverse reactions, such as cardiac arrhythmia. And yet, despite these dangers, many school systems actually work with government agencies to force parents to drug their children, threatening those who refuse with the prospect of having their children taken from the home unless they cooperate.
  • Emily Taylor, despite being reunited with her husband from prison, becomes severely depressed with emotional episodes and suicide attempts. Her psychiatrist, Jonathan Banks, after conferring with her previous doctor, eventually prescribes an experimental new medication called Ablixa. The plot thickens when the side effects of the drug lead to Emily killing her husband in a "sleepwalking" state. With Emily plea-bargained into mental hospital confinement and Dr. Banks' practice crumbling around him, the case seems closed. However, Dr. Banks cannot accept full responsibility and investigates to clear his name. What follows is a dark quest that threatens to tear what's left of his life apart even as he discovers the diabolical truth of this tragedy.
